THIS is Spring Chicken

That right there is Chicken soup with greens & grains, a great example of the stuff we LOVE at DFG: whole grains, good protein, lots of herbs and citrus, and of course veggies: this week it's Swiss Chard from Woodland Gardens.
We've got a new chicken casserole too: it's Jerk Chicken time! Chicken thighs in a spicy, flavorful marinade, brown rice, red beans, beet greens (I love how earthy and succulent they are), and coconut milk and lime.
We're rocking a noodle salad this week with caramelized scallion and green garlic dressing, marinated tofu and toasted peanuts, baby pac choi and some roasted baby turnips too.
For the sweet, it's time for something truly special: strawberries. These are from Pearson farms, and I've been patiently waiting for them to be at the height of the season: super sweet and big and red. We're going to JUST barely cook them in their own syrup and layer them with a Bavarian custard whipped with decimal Place chevre in Instagram-ready mason jars.
We're doing plenty of restocking this week: Beef & Grits, Lentils 'n Dumplings, and Peanut stew were briefly out--these farmers markets hit me HARD--but they're BACK BABY. Definitely avail yourself.
