Sometimes traditional, never boring

A few weeks ago a friend said: "May I make a suggestion? Pasta e Fagioli."
I loved it. I basically always love Italian peasant food. But I don't have a deep level of familiarity with it, and I always want to offer something special for y'all. Then my farmers put some green tomatoes on their availability and I was like "YES." So: white beans (protein), pasta, lotsa aromatics, green tomatoes (body and acidity). Greens because I can't deny my essential nature, which is to put greens in everything. Crunchy, herby garlic breadcrumbs for you to sprinkle on top.
The salad is pretty special too, if I do say so. First-of-the season satsumas, fresh cow's milk cheese from Sweetgrass Dairy, a veritable farmers market of crunchy veg, pickled onions, and toasted sunflower seeds.
And I hope you didn't think I forgot about Thanksgiving--I've got some nice sides for y'all. Order by Sunday 11/15 for pickup or delivery Thursday 11/19. And watch this space, I may add a couple of special items, and will announce them here. One final note: someone asked me to make mashed potatoes. Freezing, thawing, and reheating mashed potatoes to my high standards is beyond me BUT I have a pretty easy, very delicious recipe. If you need it, hit me up.
